Book Marketing

A realistic search plan for authors

You do not need forty articles a month. You need the basics fixed and a few pages that answer what readers search for.

Authors lose at search by trying to win at volume. The alternative is narrower and far more achievable: fix what stops search engines reading the site, then publish a small number of pages that match what readers genuinely type.

Technical first. Speed on a phone, sensible titles and descriptions, book and author structured data, clean internal linking. None of it is glamorous and all of it compounds.

Then content. Take the questions readers and interviewers always ask and answer each properly on its own page. These pages rank slowly and convert well.

Review quarterly, not weekly. Search moves on a longer cycle than advertising, and reacting to weekly noise is how good plans get abandoned early.
